Wedding Day Special Event - Artist Richard Hight

You are in for a treat during the wedding ceremony.  The internationally acclaimed artist, Richard Hight, will be creating a unique piece of art from start to finish for John and Tammy, within 10 minutes during the ceremony.  This will be like nothing you have seen before!

Richard Hight is a friend of Tammy’s through the National Speakers Association (NSA).  At the last national convention in Philadelphia, where Richard was awarded the highest earned honor in NSA – his Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation, Richard and Tammy were catching up on things when the conversation took an interesting turn.

Tammy was asking Richard how he utilized his artwork in his speaking business.  Richard explained that he and his wife Marty shared a ministry (www.visualmpactministries.com) where they perform for churches and other faith-based organizations, in addition to his speaking business (www.visualmpact.com).  Richard explained that Marty, who is an accomplished singer and speaker, would sing while Richard painted and created his artwork.  For his ministry, his artwork is Christ-centered and for his secular business, his artwork is whatever the client requests.

Tammy told Richard that she remembered seeing something like that a few years ago when she saw the Contemporary Christian Group – Casting Crowns – in concert.  Tammy explained that she remembered an artist who came out on stage and painted while Casting Crowns sang 2 of their songs.  At the end of the second song, a huge painting of Christ was revealed on the stage.  Tammy shared with Richard what an impact that event had on her personally and she told him that she had tried to find out who that artist was because she was so moved by the art that she wanted to try to purchase it.  She was never able to find out who the artist was.

Richard smiled and told Tammy that HE was that artist and had toured with Casting Crowns for 2 years!  Although it is rare to find Tammy at a loss for words, she was speechless!  As the conversation continued, she told Richard that she was getting married and wondered if he ever did his painting for wedding ceremonies.  Richard said that he had performed at weddings and he would be honored to perform at Tammy and John’s wedding!

Richard Hight and wife Marty will perform during the wedding ceremony, creating a unique piece of art and a breath-taking moment so special that words cannot describe it, exclusively for Tammy and John.  And you will get to share that moment with them!

Following the wedding ceremony, Richard and Marty will be performing their
Ministry Program on Valentine’s Day evening at Christ’s Community Church in
Portsmouth, OH. The program is open to anyone. For more information visit www.christscommunity.net

Mural Tour

BONUS MURAL TOUR:  We are inviting all wedding guests to take advantage of a free mural tour of the Portsmouth Floodwall Murals at 1:00 p.m. on the wedding day.  The tour will be conducted by our very own Scioto County Ambassador, Hometown Hero, movie star and mother-of-the-bride, Darlene Moore.

There will be a tour bus provided for this 45 minute guided tour.

PLEASE RSVP IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GO ON THE TOUR

We need a count to get the right size bus!  The Mural Tour will conclude approximately 30 minutes before the wedding ceremony will begin.

Also, the newly released DVD documentary on the murals by Lorentz Productions called “Beyond These Walls,” will be available for purchase at the Welcome Center on the wedding day.  This masterful production provides an in-depth look at how the murals came to be and the impact it has made on the Scioto County community.  Both Bob Morton (father-of-the-groom) and Darlene make many appearances in the movie, which qualifies them as “movie stars.”

Check out the historic Portsmouth Floodwall Murals at www.portsmouthohiomurals.com .  It would be our pleasure to introduce you to this historic artwork that is so significant to both our families.
